I like art. I find it everywhere, and love the time, care, and detail that artists dedicate to it. Art is a moment of communication. You can say something as simple as “Pass the salt,” as profound as “Love,” or even “Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of governance!”
I tend more towards frivolity in expression. I remember deciding that I was going to pursue art when I was seven, bored to tears in church, and drawing a ballerina. My grandmother told me that I was great for my age and let me keep going. (This was not the case with the ball in the pews, which may explain why permission made such a big impression on me.) I have been determined to draw and paint ever since.
I’m not looking to establish an eternal legacy. If I can bring laughter, joy, or beauty to a person’s day, that’s enough to be going on with. Thank you for stopping by!
